Join us creating art, being outdoors, exploring new ideas, discovering new passions and learning new skills!
Amanda Griesbach and Teresa Gustafson, of greenfireART, offer art and nature programs for children, adults and seniors in the Cowichan Valley.

We offer fun art programs for home-schooled children and teens in a supportive, nurturing environment, bringing out the creative potential in each student. We also offer art programs for adults. We believe that children, teens, adults and seniors all have an artistic talent that can blossom into an artistic passion. Both Amanda and Teresa have taught art to people and children of all ages.

We also offer forest play programs – place-based, nature-based, experiential educational programs for home-schooled children and teens. Spending time in nature helps children and teens gain self-confidence and improve their social skills – naturally. We offer nature-based art journaling, nature-awareness, ecological inquiry-based activities and time for children to have fun in the forest. Outdoor learning opportunities foster a deep connection to nature and encourage an appreciation of conservation and sustainability in children as adults.

As educators, we believe in student-centred, individualized learning that allows children to learn at their own pace while gently stretching their minds, hearts and spirits. We offer children with special needs, gifts and challenges time to be themselves, play and create in a caring, supportive program. Children love to create art, play in nature, be active with hands-on projects, make new friends and hang out with old friends – outdoors!

Join us for nature and art play this fall at The Hub at Cowichan Station. Spaces are limited, so register soon for a half or full day of art and nature play for your creative, active, and curious child.
Let’s have fun outdoors and create art together!

Canada Day Celebrations

greenfireART was happy to participate in Lake Cowichan celebrations at the Canada Trail entrance. greenfireART provided cedar planks, paint, brushes and shade. Participants were delighted to make their own signs using maple leaves as reverse stencils. Our youngest sign maker/artist was around three and our oldest was a happy grandmother.
